Last Updated: 2025-01-07
Vince Lazzara's Gulfstar 50 design has proven to be a stout, practical cruising yacht. BEQUIA II's classic overhangs and styling will turn heads in any harbor, while her rig allows her sailplan to be easily handled by a shorthanded crew. Her protected center cockpit provides shelter in rough weather and a spacious location to relax with guests in a quiet anchorage. Below deck, her spacious layout will offer comfortable accommodations for extended cruising, with arrangements for an additional crew in sea berths in the main salon. Solid teak is used liberally throughout, with finely finished storage spaces and lockers with louvered doors. A true walk-in engine room provides easy access to BEQUIA II's systems and auxiliary diesel. An excellent liveaboard, coastal or blue water cruiser, BEQUIA II has been maintained by a knowledgeable owner who has recently returned from a nine year odesey on this wonderful yacht.
Originally commissioned by Bruce Hood, Ted Hood's brother, in his yard on the east coast, many upgrades were made to her. BEQUIA II is powered by a (2004) Yanmar 100hp, full batten In-mast furling main, furling jib, Center cockpit, Genset, Watermaker, Heat/Air and much more. BEQUIA II has been privately owned/never chartered.
