FAVONIUS is a Sparkman & Stephens designed LaCoste 42 cruising yacht that is fully equipped. She features the "Special Edition" (SE) equipment package that includes a long list of equipment for comfortable and safe offshore cruising. The Lacoste 42 aft-cockpit racer/cruiser was first introduced at the Paris Boat Show in 1985 and was a result of the collaborative design and engineering efforts of Sparkman & Stephens and Chantiers Yachting of LaTeste France. The objective was to produce a fast, modern yacht with impeccable offshore qualifications, a superior design and construction pedigree second to none with upscale features and benefits. By combining the talents of some of the best names in the business, this concept was successfully met with outstanding reviews. FAVONIUS was originally commissioned by a New York investment banker who sailed and raced her in Long Island Sound as "Chevalier du Mer" (Horse of the Sea). She was then purchased by a CEO of a large Silicon Valley firm who shipped her to San Francisco Bay and day sailed her lightly.
