The Nordic 44 is a world class offshore cruiser designed by renowned naval architect Bob Perry. She was American made in Bellingham, Washington to extremely high standards by Nordic Yachts. Nordic yachts are often compared to Passport, Valiant or Mason's in concept but will out sail these designs with superior performance. Bob Perry, the designer, was known to comment that the Nordic 44 was his favorite design. Particular attention was paid to the ability to sail to windward. The keel is a foil design with the lead ballast in the bottom 40% of the keel plan form. The large rudder is very far aft on a full-length skeg for maximum strength, protection, tracking and maneuverability. Nordic built thirty-nine 44's, of which some 30-40% have crossed oceans and a number of them have circumnavigated the globe.

The NORDIC 44 is known to be easy for 2 people to sail comfortably and safely.
