TIGER TRAP

Tiger Trap is a serious bluewater cruiser with comfortable accommodations. The 33' Mason was designed by Al Mason to conform with Lloyds specifications. Built in the Ta Shing Yacht Builders yard in Taiwan for Pacific Asian Enterprises. Her construction is solid and stout throughout.

She was ordered from the factory without teak decks. She has an excellent factory non-skid surface decks without the issues associated with teak. She may be the only one on the market today with this feature.

Her deck is well laid out with excellent equipment and her spars and sail handling equipment far exceed any other cruiser on the market.

The interior of DEPHINUS is beautiful. The fit and finish of the light teak interior joinery is outstanding.

Construction Overview

The 33 Mason was designed by Al Mason and built by the respected Ta Shing Boatbuilders yard in Tianan Taiwan. Construction supervision and and importing was by Pacific Asian Enterprises of Dana Point, CA. The hand laid hull is built to Lloyds +100 A-1 specifications. The Ta Shing yard is also notable for producing the Nordhavn, Taswell, Norseman and Tashiba lines. All are recognized as high quality builds.

Accommodations

The main salon features comfortable settees located on port and starboard, both extend to large single berths. There is a beautiful drop-leaf table with storage. Nice additional features include a wet locker with a drain for foul weather gear adjacent to the companionway and a sit-down navigation center with chart storage. There is both under-seat storage, under-table storage and a cabinet with shelves at the nav. station. All interior joinery work is of hand-rubbed, satin-finished teak and the cabin sole is of finished teak and spruce with many removable panels for bilge access. The headroom is 6'2" and there are 3 lexan hatches and 10 opening ports.

The master stateroom is forward with a full-sized double berth, under-berth storage, numerous cabinets and shelves with fiddles, vanity and dressing seat. There are two large hanging lockers and ample storage solutions. The interior fabric is done in durable Sunbrella marine fabric.

The head features a stainless steel sink set in a formica countertop with teak fiddle, shower, Raritan marine toilet, Whale foot-operated water pump and many storage cabinets.

Galley

The U-shaped galley is well configured for cruising. There is ample counter space and cabinet storage. The galley is equipped with a double stainless steel sink with both a hot & cold pressure water system single lever faucet and a foot operated Whale pump. There is a gimbaled 3 burner Mariner Regal propane stove with oven and broiler. The propane system is properly configured with a pressure regulator, pressure gauge and a safety solenoid. The galley features a large refrigerator / freezer box with an Adler Barbour cold plate refrigeration system.
