The Mikelson 42 is the boat that put Mikelson in the sportfish business back in 1986. Designed by Tom Fexas, she’s a notably handsome flybridge sedan whose profile is accented by a long foredeck and large cabin windows. She rides on a hull specifically designed, according to Fexas, for maximum efficiency in the 20-knot range. A two-stateroom, galley-up layout with a single head, lower helm and the interior is completely finished with handcrafted teak cabinetry. The cockpit is partially shaded by a bridge overhang and it is large enough for two or three anglers to work without being crowded. The flybridge is very large. Additional features include a radar arch, wide side decks, transom door, teak cockpit sole, and teak-and-holly floors throughout the interior. Twin 260hp GM 8.2L diesels cruise her at an efficient 16 - 18 knots and achieve a top speed of around 20 knots.
