Last Updated: 2024-03-16

Since inception, the Island Gypsy 44-foot Sundeck Motor Yacht has often been copied but never equaled.  Island Gypsy and Grand Banks share common roots.  Both iconic brands were born out of Junk Bay, Hong Kong, where their founders shared a common goal of producing the highest quality handmade yachts available. This 1984 Kong & Halvorsen 44-foot Island Gypsy Aft Cabin Motor Yacht is an exceptional example of Joseph Kong & Harvey Halverson's vision. Motor Vessel DANNY BOY has an exceptional fit and finish and has been properly maintained in a covered slip by its current owners of many years. This vessel is turn-key and outfitted for cruising in Alaskan and Canadian waters.

Tour of M/V DANNY BOY

As you board DANNY BOY mid-ship starboard, you will notice the near perfect condition of her teak decks throughout. Moving forward on the starboard side weather deck to the focsle you will notice that all lines have chaffing gear, and she is well found at her moorings.

Moving aft and up, you will want to have a look at the warm after-cockpit sundeck. Notice the beautiful custom canvas, and bright work fore and aft all around as you duck down the companionway into the main salon. Access to the salon may be gained from the aft cockpit companionway or from a door leading out to the weather deck starboard side. The settee is to port and seats six comfortably. There is an additional freezer underneath the seating there.

The galley is L-shaped and well laid out to port, featuring a Force 10 oven, sink and ample storage. A full-size refrigerator and freezer are also found in the galley.

Moving down and aft to the owner's stateroom, you will find a center-line queen pedestal bed, a plentiful number of drawers for storage, a hanging locker, and a vanity. The fit and finish of this Island Gypsy is truly stunning. The head is to port with a regular enclosed shower.

Heading back up forward into the salon and down through the companionway, there is a single crew berth to port with ample chart storage. Across the passageway to starboard is the guest head with a sit-down shower. Forward to the v-berth there is a hanging locker and additional storage. There is a nice insert that makes the v-berth forward into a comfortable double berth if desired.

Heading back aft into the crew's quarters you can access the engine room from inside the crew's cabin. The engine room is exceptionally clean and well-maintained by the owner. All maintenance records are maintained onboard as well as a step-by-step guide to the systems onboard authored by the current owner.

This vessel is exceptional throughout. The owners have enjoyed this yacht for many years cruising in Alaskan and Canadian waters each summer. She is ready for your next adventure.
