FREEDOM is a beautiful example of this David Pedrick designed cruiser from the well-respected New England builder Freedom Yachts. Many feel that the exterior and interior layouts on the Freedom 35 are the best available in their size and class. Features include a swim platform, walk-through transom, self-tending sailplan, easy stairway access to the interior, aft head with stall shower, all stainless-steel opening portlights, skylights, and two extra-large staterooms. On FREEDOM a two speed electric winch makes sail handling a snap and the Flag Blue Awl Gripped hull is a real standout in any harbor.
If the motto of simple is easy then the Freedom 35 is for you. Imagine no stays, no turnbuckles, no need to go forward just speed, safety and easy sailing, isn't it a wonder all boats aren't thought out like this' FREEDOM is a yacht that has been maliciously maintained by her current owner. Recent canvas package, electronic upgrades and bottom job all add value to an already stellar package. The beautiful, varnished cherry wood below and the quality of the joinery work would cost thousands more to duplicate today.

To transition from close hauled to downwind sailing, simply adjust the single lines controlling the jib and main. All lines lead through stoppers to the cockpit. The deck is clean and easy to maintain with NO TEAK beyond the step on the swim platform. Portlights, stanchions, grab rails, bow and stern rails, and cowl vents are all 316 grade quality stainless. Stanchions and double lifelines are higher than industry standard for added safety. Boarding gates to port and starboard. The main is fully battened and has two built in reefs which are fully set from the safety of the cockpit. The jib has the standard Camberspar for easy self-tacking and self tending and this will wing out automatically on a run. Ask the broker about the Freedom "man-over-board drill" and also the safety of sailing a Freedom dead down-wind. Sail cover for the main is recent and is integrated to the sail. The cockpit cushons are white vinyl. There is a rigid boom vang for extra control and safety and lazy jacks control the sail and sail cover when it's lowered. Freedom Yachts was the maker of the Freedom (sail) and Legacy (power) yacht brands. The Freedom sailboats have unstayed rigs, meaning that the mast is freestanding and not supported by the normal set of wires called standing rigging. Garry Hoyt, a champion sailor and noted maverick, created the unstayed rigs to give "freedom" from the inefficient sail shapes of traditional sloop rigs as well as to give "freedom" from the compression and maintenance issues associated with standing rigging.
