The pilothouse can be fully enclosed or opened to the cockpit with power aft windows that drop down at the touch of a switch and a companionway door that recesses into a self draining pocket. Since 1982, we have been striving to build the best offshore sailboats possible. All our customers have had specific requirements for their boats, and most have kept in touch over the course of their cruising. Since many of our boats have been variations of earlier projects, we have been able to refine and improve original concepts. Many of our clients bring vast experience to the design table and in doing so help with the evolution of all Waterline Yachts. Over the years we have been fortunate to assemble a crew of dedicated craftsmen who, due to their love of sailing, gain immense satisfaction turning their dreams into reality. Almost oll of our crew are experienced offshore sailors or racers, so they know what it means to be in a small boat on a big ocean. You can depend on their top quality workmanship and attention to detail.
The hull and deck are constructed of mild steel (minimum 44,000 psi yield) with a plating thickness of 3/16" on the hull skin, ½" on the keel bottom, ¼" on the keel sides, 11 gauge on the house, deck, cockpit, and transom and 10 gauge on the skeg and rudder. The angle framing system runs both transversely and longitudinally. All seams are welded inside and out. 316 Stainless steel attachment points are provided on deck for stanchions, windlass, toe rails, chainplates, and companionway hatch. The toe rail is a highly polished 316 stainless steel 1/1/2" by 3" rectangular section tube and is mounted on integral welded tabs set just high enough to free all deck water quickly. Integral in the keel structure is a baffled fuel tank. Below the fuel tank is a sealed, lead filled ballast compartment in a bulb appendage. A forward sail locker with deck access provides a watertight collision bulkhead. A self-draining anchor tray is built in. The bow-sprit/anchor rollers are of stainless steel fabrication and welded into the hull. The fixed salon windows and hull side fixed ports are laminated hurricane strength reflective coated glass. There are 5 opening ports with screens and 7 overhead hatches with screens providing excellent ventilation.
