SHEARWATER was designed by German Frers for blue water cruising. The design features a sweet sheerline with a low center cockpit, wide side decks, a comfortable interior and excellent sailing performance. Her solid teak interior features highly detailed louvered locker fronts and dovetailed drawers and beautiful workmanship by her builder. Two spacious staterooms, a large salon with drop leaf table and a walk through galley provide exceptional interior living space - far larger than most of her contemporaries.

She was built by the Queen Long Marine yard in Kaohsiung Taiwan. The yard is highly respected for its build quality and the quality of SHEARWATER is evident from the moment you step aboard.

The hull is hand laid reinforced with longitudinal stringers. Ballast is a bolted on lead cruising fin keel and the rudder is mounted on a beefy skeg..

The elegant interior of SHEARWATER features rich quality teak joinery throughout that has been professionally maintained. There is much pride shown by the owner over the past 17 years as just recently the upholstery was completely redone. She has been professionally serviced and we have invoices to back up this claim. The bottom was last painted about two years ago, and the zincs are replaced on a regular schedule as the boat is dived and cleaned.

SHEARWATER has low hours on both her Yanmar main engine and her Northern Lights Generator.

Some additional features that stand out are the 6' 4" headroom in the main salon, loads of natural light, and plenty of ventilation. There is much comfort and beauty with the newly upholstered seating throughout the salon. There is a feeling of sophistication with the many bookcases and teak lockers to feature and store your treasures.

The navigation table is not only comfortable and perfect for charting your next destination, but surrounds you with all the controls from main electric panel to back up instruments. Every aspect of this Hylas is functionally designed to to get the best sailing experience in heavy seas.

This boat is outfitted with a full chefs galley designed for passage making with ample counter space and both top and front loading refrigeration to prepare meals on a long voyage.

There are two private cabins that offer comfort and privacy as well as two heads. The aft owners stateroom features a centerline queen size berth, loads of storage and a private head that includes a separate stand up stall shower. The accommodations will not disappoint.
