POINT BLUE

POINT BLUE is a creation of a life long yachtsman who owned a succession of large sailing yachts. He desired a yacht that could be handled comfortably and safely in adverse weather conditions while making open ocean passages. While most navigation stations on a yacht this size are found below decks taking up a portion of the salon, he designed POINT BLUE to have a full view control center on an upper level or mezzanine which also overlooks the entire full width grand salon of the yacht.

A talented team was assembled to achieve the owners goals. The Naval Architecture firm, Thomas Wylie Design Group, the noted Yacht Designer Dick Young who designed a fleet of yachts for Oyster Marine and America's Cup yacht builder Westerly Marine of Costa Mesa California.

The goals in the design phase of the Point 65 were two., first to simplify systems allowing for safe sailing by two people and second to achieve an open spacious mega-yacht feeling. The "surround-view" navigation station is a place where crew and guests can gather to enjoy sailing regardless of the weather conditions. Meticulous attention was given to all amenities which resulted in an extraordinary yacht with beautifully blended qualities for safe, comfortable cruising and superior performance.

The interior concept of the Point 65 is a refection of discerning requirements. It is a rare combination of performance, elegance and comfort. Finished in American Cherry the interior is abundant in natural light with a sense of spacious luxury. Attention to detail in the interior is visible in every aspect with a choice selection of fixtures, fittings and fabrics. The combination of all these factors have created a clean timeless design.
