CARPE VENTUM

CARPE VENTUM is spectacular example of a 34' Hallberg Rassy sloop that has been lovingly maintained by its original owner. 500 of these yachts were built in a production run that spanned from 1990 until 2005. Rarely do these come on the market because owners become so attached to them that they keep them for years.

With her efficient keel and sturdy fractional rig she has great sailing characteristics that are not usually found in a fine cruising yacht. HR 34's have won many races, even though they offer great sea worthiness and comfort for blue water cruising.

The large aft cockpit is well protected by the trademark Hallberg-Rassy wind screen. The dodger can be folded back in nice weather. All halyard and reefing lines are controlled from the cockpit.

Down below the layout is excellent with two nice staterooms and a dinette that converts. The yacht has a central diesel heating system which will keep the yacht warm and dry underway or at anchor. The fit and finish is top notch with hand made mahogany cabinetry, fine doors and louvered fronts. The engine installation has good air intake and is well insulated for sound.

The maneuvering ability is excellent, as well as the sailing qualities. HR 34 has the touch of a racing boat, heels, speeds up with a comfortable weather helm and good response on trimming. The hull and deck of the HR 34 are built under constant supervision of the Lloyd's Register of Shipping, and a Lloyd's certificate is supplied with each boat.
