Puffin is a very clean Norwest 33 in great condition. Her bright work has just been professionally done and her freshly buffed and waxed hull sides shine. She is a respected offshore cruiser with a full keel, attached rudder, protected prop and a keel stepped mast. The Norwest 33 was designed by Chuck Burns as a modern reincarnation of the classic CCA cruiser-racers of the 1960's. While the lines and dimensions are very similar to the Sea Sprite or Cape Dory 33, the keel was designed for improved lift and windward performance. The moderate 5' draft, 10' beam and cutaway full keel provide easy sea motion and comfort along with the ability to tuck into out of the away coves for the night. The boat handles great and will sail herself to windward forever with the wheel locked. She has a very easy motion and light helm. It doesn't develop excessive weather helm as the wind increases as do most fin keel boats.

The Norwest 33 is easy handling. The internal halyards run aft from the aluminum mast over Barient winches to the cockpit making single handed outtings routine. The custom aluminum mid-boom traveler leads control lines to the cockpit where the boom can be positioned and the mainsail trimmed by a single handed sailor. With shrouds placed inboard there is plenty of room on the side decks and the bow. She features a deep anchor locker and a fitted anchor roller to protect the hull. Bow and stern pulpits connected by double life lines, eight fully opening ports and two operating hatches compliment the deck. In the cockpit there is room for six with stowage lockers under each seat.
