With the California ocean salmon season expected to reopen after a multi-year closure - and salmon counts reported as strong - this is the right boat at the right time. This customized 1974 Dyer 29’ Sportfisher is a proven Pacific Ocean fishing platform that has safely and successfully fished salmon, halibut, and crab from Point Reyes to Pedro Point and out to the Farallon Islands.

If you’re looking for a stable, confidence-inspiring ocean boat that’s already dialed-in for West Coast conditions, this one is turnkey and ready to fish.

Originally built by Dyer in Rhode Island, renowned for their rugged Down East lobster boat designs, this semi-displacement fiberglass hull (approx. 7,000 lbs) delivers exceptional stability and seakeeping in ocean swell. The wide, open stern offers excellent 180° fishing access and comfortably accommodates 3 - 5 anglers trolling or crabbing.

The boat was professionally modified for colder, rougher Pacific conditions with a custom hardtop enclosed cabin, making long days offshore far more comfortable.

• Yanmar 315 HP Turbo Diesel (approx. 1,770 hours)

• Hydraulic trim tabs for balancing ride in varying sea states

• Trolling valve for dialing in perfect salmon trolling speed

Recent Professional Maintenance

All major service has just been completed so the next owner can step into a boat that’s fully prepared for the upcoming season. The boat is in the condition the owner would personally require at the start of a salmon season:

• Engine fully serviced, including raw water pump replacement (approx. $800 part alone)

• Engine timing belt replaced by Yanmar service (early 2025)

• Bottom power washed, scraped, and repainted

• New zincs on rudder
