42' Passport Cutter

PEREGRINE is a rugged, offshore cruising yacht that was designed by Stan Huntingford and built by Passport Yachts. Her current owner purchased her new and he circumnavigated the globe in her. He has lovingly cared for her from day one and she still appears almost new. Her interior living spaces feel much larger than her 42 feet while offering good storage spaces above and below decks. With two private staterooms, an additional quarter berth and a straight settee she will sleep six. Her large head compartment features a spacious separate stall shower. On deck, her comfortable cockpit with a hard dodger is well protected from the elements. Her teak decks and her interior are close to perfect. The yacht has a Hard Dodger, a Cruising Arch with Dinghy Davits and a Wind Generator.

There are many stand-out features on a Passport 42 including her true cutter design, well-designed cockpit and side decks, exceptional companionway entry and outstanding interior accommodations. The underbody features a modified fin keel and a skeg hung rudder which provides excellent maneuverability and extremely steady downwind tracking. She is a comfortable ride without hobby-horsing in choppy seas or the inability to sail safely away from a lee shore.

PEREGRINE is a "must see" cruising yacht. Call today to see her!

Additional Descriptions

PEREGRINE may have the best interior layout available in any 42 foot liveaboard ocean cruising sailboat. Her interior is finished in gorgeous Burmese tongue and grove teak throughout with solid beveled teak cabin doors with louvers, teak and holly sole, heavy teak grab rails at the cabin sides under ports and solid teak companionway ladder with non-skid. Cabin sides are white laminate and her headliner is wood staving in white gloss enamel with teak battens. Opening ports, hatches and dorade vents provide good ventilation. Storage is also abundant with lockers and cabinets throughout – many with louvered fronts which provide essential storage ventilation. Her arrangement will sleep six in two private cabins, a quarterberth and a straight settee.

The comfortable main salon is nicely arranged with a spacious L-shaped dinette to port and a straight settee to starboard. The dinette features a beautifully finished teak table that has a leaf that folds down out of the way. On the starboard and port sides of the salon are double bookshelves and two cabinets with double louvered doors on either side of the bookshelves. There is generous storage above, behind, and below the settee and dinette seats. Teak grab rails run the length of the salon along the cabin side. Headroom is 6’6”. A Force-10 Propane heater is mounted on the bulkhead forward of the straight settee.

The forward facing navigation station is aft and to starboard. There is a large table with lift top storage. Below the table on the forward inboard end are a drawer and louvered cabinet. A shelf above and outboard provides storage for guide books and small electronics. Outboard is the main electrical panel and battery/tank monitors.

The base of companionway has a teak grate for shedding water from the cabin sole. A wet locker with teak drain grate is located to starboard near the base of the companionway. There is a fold down work bench with tool storage above the quarterberth.

The large U-shaped galley features expansive counter space and tremendous amount of storage. On centerline is a double deep stainless steel sink with hot/cold water on demand plus manual fresh & salt-water pumps. There is additional storage space under the sinks. Outboard is a gimbaled Force 10 3-burner LPG stove with oven & broilers. There is a cabinet underneath the stove. Refrigeration compartments located below the forward end of the counter are more than adequate with separate top-loading freezer and top/front loading fridge. There is a large dry storage locker and a microwave is mounted above the counter with a counter, pull out cutting board and large drawers below. Outboard along the hull side are three cabinets with louvered doors. Light and ventilation is provided by a fixed portlight and two hatches with teak trim screens.

The forward master stateroom with ensuite head features a large "V" berth, 7' 6" long, 6’ 2" wide and 2' at the forward end. Louvered cabinets are above on both sides. Below the aft end of the berth are three drawers and just aft and to starboard are an additional three drawers and large louvered cabinet. There are two brass reading lamps. A large ceiling hatch with teak framed screen and two bronze opening ports provide ventilation within the cabin.

The head is located on the port side forward of the salon adjacent to the master stateroom. Outboard is a white marble vanity with double louvered vanity cabinets behind. A single drawer and cabinet are located below the counter. A Raritan manual head is located aft facing forward. Forward is a large separate shower stall with a teak grate covering the sump. Within the shower a teak seat is located outboard and a hatch and a bronze opening port provide ventilation.

The aft stateroom is located to port at the base of the companionway, there is a queen size berth, aft locker and four drawers beneath berth for storage as well as spacious bin storage under berth. Outboard along the hull side there are two bookshelves on either side of an enclosed cabinet with double louvered doors. There are two brass reading lamps and two bronze opening port lights with screens.

The open quarterberth is adjacent to the companionway to starboard. Above and outboard is a custom cabinet with double louvered doors and a 9" wide shelf that stretches the entire length of the space along the hull to the aft end of the berth. There is excellent storage space below the berth. Above the berth is a drop down work bench with tool storage.
