Capitol Yachts Gulf 32 is an appealing design Bay sailors and Delta cruisers. With her inside and outside steering stations you can enjoy boating year round. At 16,000 #'s, the design is heavily constructed and stable under all conditions. Generous accommodations below decks provide for a comfortable life afloat.
The cabin is entered by going down a three step ladder from the cockpit to the cabin. To your left (port side) is the galley, and to the right (starboard side) is the navigation station and a quarter berth. The cabin sole is teak and holly, and the interior is fitted out with teak. There is 6'-3" standing head room throughout the interior. The galley/navigation area is bright and has large windows on all sides.
The galley consists of a three burner propane stove with oven, refrigerator/icebox and sink with hot and cold pressurized water. A laminate board slides over the stove and provides more counter space when the stove is not in use. The refrigerator/ice box is aft of the stove. The stainless steel double sink is just forward of the stove and has an extendable faucet with hot and cold pressurized water, and a cold water foot pump activated faucet.
Under the counter by the refrigerator are four drawers for cooking utensils and galley sundries. Under the stove is a drawer for pots and pans, and under the sink there is storage for items.
To the right is a quarter berth that runs partially under the outside starboard seating. There is lighting over the navigation station and quarter berth, including one with a red night vision setting.
If you are seated on the quarter berth and facing forward, you will be at the navigation station. There is a Furuno radar/GPS screen, and room for charts. The desk contains one single drawer. To the right is the switch panel, and under the desk is the AC battery charger. The batteries are located under the forward end of the quarter berth, and there is more storage under the aft end of the quarter berth.
To the left of the navigation station is the inside steering station with duplicate wheel, throttle and shift. A seat fits into the floor, which allows you to be seated at the steering station.
Under your feet, there are three panels that provide access to the engine, water heater and bilge pump. Looking aft, behind the ladder, there is access to more storage under the cockpit.
Moving forward from the galley/navigation area, there are two steps that lead to the salon, which is then separated from the forward area by a wood bulkhead. At the aft end of this berth, there is an opening panel to shelves located under the sink. There is more storage under the settee and florescent lighting above the settee. A porthole above the settee allows in additional natural lighting.
To your right, there is an L shaped settee. A table folds down from the bulkhead. Like the settee on the port side, there are cabinets and shelves above the settee that run along the hull. A cushion that serves as a back support for the L section of the settee fits into the space between the bulkhead and L to become a double berth. There is storage behind this cushion and more storage under the settee. Florescent lighting and a porthole above the settee provide additional lighting.
Moving forward again, you will find a hanging locker with shelves to your left, and the head to the right. (6ft headroom) The head has a single sink with hot and cold pressurized water and a cold water foot pump activated faucet. The hot and cold water faucet can also be used as a shower. There is storage under the sink. An opening hatch is located above, and there is a porthole allowing in natural light.
The floor of the head is a teak grate and shower water drains into a shower sump with its own pump. The head has florescent lighting.
Moving forward, you move into the V- berth which runs across the boat and sleeps two comfortably. To the left there is a half-hanging locker. Cabinets and a large shelf run along the port side of the berth, and a smaller shelf surrounds the rest of the berth. The area has a combination of florescent and incandescent lighting, including a red night vision setting.
There is a large sliding hatch above the berth that lets in light and fresh air.
