The Grand Banks 32 is one of the most enduring small trawler designs ever produced with nearly 1,000 built to date. Her exterior profile remained essentially unchanged since the original model was built back in 1965. The wood classic can not be distinguished from one of the fiberglass models built after 1974. Many Grand Banks purists believe the wood boats have a more sea-kindly ride that the fiberglass boats. Grand Banks are dependable and seaworthy boats. Below, the layout is simple and very practical, with great visibility and roomy accommodations. The teak cabinetry and wood work are very impressive.
Entering from the aft teak deck where there is plenty of room for entertaining, the main salon is on the same level. There are teak parquet floors and large windows that flood the salon with natural light. On the starboard side is an L-shaped settee and teak yacht table that can be lowered to make a double berth. The straight settee to port offers excellent seating and storage.
The well equipped efficient galley is forward to port. To starboard is the lower helm station with excellent visability.
The master stateroom is forward with full headroom and has a generous hanging locker and drawer space. The light and airy head compartment has plenty of storage space and is equipped with a 12 volt powered marine toilet, shower and sink with hot and cold water. The forward stateroom V Berth can accommodate two people in comfort. The optional filler pieces can be inserted to make one large berth.
Located forward and to port in the salon, she is equipped with a pressure water system, Force 10 propane stove with oven and broiler, a classic Grand Banks refrigerator with freezer, and ample counter and storage space.
The flybridge is long and wide which makes it great for cruising and entertaining. Under the flybridge seats are teak slatted storage compartments. The flybridge also offers a newer bimini top, venturi windscreen and weather curtains. There are nice cushions for all seating and a large storage locker beneath the helm console.
