GALENA is a beautiful example of the highly respected Ta Shing Baba 40. She shows true pride of ownership and has been continually upgraded by her long term owners. This Robert Perry design is considered to be one of the most capable cruising yachts on the water. She was designed for safe, comfortable passage making with excellent live aboard accommodations.

She has a generous master stateroom and a second private cabin for guests. Additional berths can be configured in the main salon.  Her immaculate interior accommodations are practical and gracious. All of the interior woodwork in GALENA is beautiful varnished teak. The joinery work is characteristic of Ta-Shing?s superior workmanship, all locker doors are louvered for maximum ventilation and there are warm teak battens along the hull sides. The cabin sole is teak and holly, the hull is fully insulated. The interior upholstery is done in durable green Ultra-suede fabric.

Her teak decks are in great condition and her ivory hull shines like new. She has a high quality Iverson's Design dodger, along with their signature bimini top and a connector piece. A removable full isinglass enclosure with covers completes the package and all is in excellent condition.

Accommodations

The master stateroom is forward has a queen size berth with a new Tempurpedic mattress, drawers, louvered lockers and shelves.  A small seat and hanging locker is to starboard. This stateroom has an overhead hatch, two opening ports and a deck prism. Next, aft to port, is the head with a generous separate stall shower with seat, a marble vanity, stainless steel sink, mirrored cabinet, storage lockers and two opening ports. Opposite to the head entrance is a hanging locker.  The light and airy main salon has five opening ports and two large opposing hatches. There is a U-shaped dinette to port and comfortable settee to starboard with a nice end table.  The aft end of the settee is used as a seat for the large aft facing navigation station.  A deck prism is located over its work area. There are multiple drawers, shelves and louvered lockers. The guest stateroom is located at the foot of the companionway stairs to starboard and contains a double berth, hanging locker, table, drawers and shelves. Two opening ports provide nice ventilation as well as good communications with the cockpit.

Galley

The chefs galley is located to port at the foot of the companionway. It is U-shaped to maximize counter and storage space.  There is a double stainless steel sink located close to centerline, hot and cold pressure water, back up fresh water foot pump. The large top front loading, refrigerator/freezer is cooled using a newer Vitrifrigo 12V cold plate system. Counter tops are white Formica with an attractive custom tile backsplash and there is abundant storage in drawers and cabinets. Two opening ports, and the companionway provide excellent light and ventilation.

Deck and Hull

GALENA is a beautiful Perry designed blue water yacht.  She has an ivory hull, molded non-skid on house top and forrest green boot and wale stripes.  Decks are 5/8” laid teak which is in excellent condition, the bulwarks have a teak cap rail, laminated bow sprint, bow anchor platform with double anchor rollers, Samson post, teak cockpit seats, grate, and a teak rub rail. There are thirteen (13) bronze opening ports, all with screens, an opening hatch over the forward cabin with screen, 2 overhead hatches in the main salon. Four (4) dorade vents with stainless steel ventilators, stainless steel traveler base, and a boom gallows. Three (3) deck prisms.  Double bow and stern rails with gates port and starboard, (2) mast pulpits.
