Accommodations

Very large double berth forward with hanging locker forward, full head with stall shower slightly aft to port with hanging locker across. Aft to salon with L-shaped settee, straight settee opposite which expands to a generous sized single.  Cushions have been recovered in tasteful dark green velour, traditional butterfly hatch above. Far aft port is galley, centerline companionway with nav table and quarter berth starboard.

The Tayana 37 is very spacious down below with 6'5 headroom and beam carried almost entire length of the vessel. 

Galley

Large, well insulated ice box with Norcold two plate cooling system driven by either 12V or 110V, NEW Force 10 stainless steel gimballed three burner propane stove with oven, hot/cold pressure water (15 gal. hot water heater, engine or 110V fired), bronze manual backup pump for fresh water tanks, deep stainless steel sinks.

Electronics and Navigation

Radar, Cybernet VHF radio, Morro depth sounder, Signet speed/distance indicator, magnetic compass. Cybernet AM/FM/cassette player.

Electrical Systems

110V AC / 12V DC. 30 amp shore power service, one deep cycle 8D house battery, one deep cycle 4D starting battery and one deep cycle Group 27 battery dedicated to the refrigerator, Professional Mariner automatic battery charger.

Sails and Rigging

Deck stepped spruce mast with compression post to the keel. Mainsail, working jib and staysail, sails in good shape. The main and the staysail have recently been replaced with Ted Hood sails and are still in like new condition.  Upgraded standing rigging to 3/8" stainless steel wire. 861 sq. feet sail area.

Deck and Hull

Heavily laid up full keel canoe stern cutter. Hand laid solid FRP hull, balsa cored decks with teak overlay and keel hung rudder with aperture. #45 CQR anchor, #35 CQR and #20 Danforth, dual bow rollers, Nilson two speed manual windlass, ample line and 3/8" chain rode. Substantial cockpit canvas dodger and sail covers.  Dingy davits on the stern.

Engine and Mechanical

Fresh water cooled naturaly aspirated Perkins 4-108 diesel, totally rebuilt in the mid-1990s; rebuild included new crank, rods, pistons, valves and seals. Three bladed bronze prop with 1 1/4" stainless steel shaft. Electric and manual bilge pumps.

Bill is a resident of South Beach in San Francisco. He has been racing sailboats competitively and cruising blue waters most of his life. He is an active member of the South Beach Yacht Club, where he is currently Staff Commodore, and also a member of the St. Francis Yacht Club. He is a licensed USCG Captain, US Sailing Club Race Officer and has a comprehensive working knowledge of both powerboats and sailboats.
